WHEREAS, The Grand Island Public Library was using Ingram Library Services
to order books. This is our vendor of choice with discounts through the Nebraska Library
Commission; and,
WHEREAS, Ingram Library Services began charging a variable fee with a rate
amount that changes daily in April of 2026; and,
WHEREAS, the Library wishes to order books through Ingram Library Services
using the Nebraska Library Commission Discount; and,
WHEREAS, the Library would like to have the City Council approve a Purchase
Order through Ingram Library Services for up to $67,000 to use for ordering books for the rest of
this fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Library Commission has an agreement with Ingram
Library Services which was procured in a manner consistent with the requirements of the City of
Grand Island; and,
WHEREAS, Ingram Library Services has agreed to allow the City of Grand Island
to purchase books by and through the Nebraska Library Commission agreement; and,
WHEREAS,to control expenses,this agreement will ensure that the Library utilizes
Ingram Library Services via the Nebraska Library Commission cooperative agreement to
maximize taxpayer purchasing power with discounted pricing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to
execute such documents as may be necessary on behalf of the City of Grand Island for the Library
to create a Purchase Order up to$67,000 for the remainder fiscal year 2025-26 with Ingram Library
Services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Library Director is authorized to sign and
implement any orders or documents deemed necessary to ensure that books may be ordered
through Ingram Library Services.
