WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has adopted an Economic Development
Program and authorized the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation, in
conjunction with the City Administrator, to oversee the process of approving applications for
economic development incentives; and
WHEREAS, Case New Holland Industrial ("Case") has applied for LB840 funds
to assist in the hiring, and training, of forty-five (45)new full time equivalent employees by April
of 2027; and,
WHEREAS, such application has been reviewed by the City Administrator,serving
as the LB840 Program Administrator; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to provide economic development
funding to Case provided by the Grand Island Economic Development Program; and,
WHEREAS, funds distributed will be limited to those appropriated and not
otherwise committed at the time of distribution, and will be subject to terms and conditions to be
set forth in a separate grant agreement, incorporated herein, including the creation, and
maintenance, of all required employment opportunities in Grand Island.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that a reimbursable job creation grant in an
amount not to exceed $388,000.00 is hereby approved, the Mayor is authorized to sign the
agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island, and the City Administrator is authorized to take
all actions necessary to facilitate this award.
