WHEREAS,City Council approved for Hornady Manufacturing to operate Heartland Public
Shooting Park(HPSP); and
WHEREAS,City Council approved four(4)capital improvement projects for the Heartland
Public Shooting Park (HPSP) and approved four (4) capital improvement projects for the HPSP
facility this fiscal year including: Completion of a New Sporting Clay Loop $97,000, Drainage
Solution for Trap and Skeet Field$47,000, FY2025 Capital Improvement Rollover$161,624, and
Storage Building Rehabilitation $390,000; and
WHEREAS, Hornady has reported that updated estimates for the Storage Building
Rehabilitation is only $200,000. Hornady has requested to utilize the anticipated unused storage
Building funds to hydro seed new buffalo and brome native grasses for some of the shooting berms,
silhouette range and road ditch; and
WHEREAS, City Administration recommends that the Council approve for Hornady to
utilize the anticipated unused Storage Building funds for grass seeding in the amount of$22,861.98
WHEREAS, the account being used will be 41044401-85612.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that Council approve for Hornady to utilize the
anticipated unused Storage Building funds for a grass seeding.
