WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, is authorized by the Nebraska
Interlocal Cooperation Act to enter into agreements with other governmental units to perform any
governmental service, activity, or undertaking that each unit is authorized by law to perform; and
WHEREAS,the City Council of Grand Island finds it in the best interest of the City
to participate in the Equalis Group (the "Cooperative")to achieve cost savings and administrative
efficiencies in the procurement of goods and services; and
WHEREAS,membership in said Cooperative will allow the City to "piggyback" on
competitively bid contracts that meet the City's formal procurement standards as defined in Article
27-V, Section 27- 63 of the Grand Island City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the Council approve the
Interlocal Participation Agreement required for membership.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that, the City of Grand Island hereby approves
membership in the Equalis Group.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute a contract with such contractor for such project on behalf of the City of Grand Island and
that the City Clerk shall store,retain,and make available for access all related and herein referenced
documents in the same manner as contracts and agreements are retained.
