WHEREAS, on October 8, 2024, by Resolution 2024-256, the City of Grand
Island approved a contract with VenuWorks to manage the day-to-day operations of the
Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, section 3.5 authorizes the City to transfer funds to Heartland Event
Center/VenuWorks operating cash account for operations of Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks October 28, 2025 requested and approved $200,000 for
operating funds for Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks October 28, 2025 requested and approved to receive
$30,000 in ten (10) monthly installments not to exceed $500,000 for FY2026 starting in
December 2025.
WHEREAS, VenuWorks has requested $145,284 for operating funds for
Heartland Events Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the $145,284 funding request by
VenuWorks is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreements on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
