03/10/2026 Resolutions 2026-57 RESOLUTION 2026-57 WHEREAS, a public utility easement is required by the City of Grand Island from The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society to survey, construct, inspect, maintain, repair, replace,relocate,extend,remove,and operate thereon,public utilities and appurtenances,including power lines; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 10, 2026, for the purpose of discussing the proposed acquisition of a five(5.0)foot wide utility easement tract in part of Lot One (1),Lot Two(2)Lot Three(3),Lot Four(4),and Lot Five(5),all in Block Two(2),Good Samaritan Subdivision, in the City of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska; the boundary of the utility easement and right-of-way tract being more particularly described as follows: The westerly five(5.0)feet of Lot One(1),Lot Two(2),Lot Three(3),Lot Four(4), and Lot Five (5), all in Block Two (2), Good Samaritan Subdivision, in the City of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska. The above-described easement and right-of-way containing a total of.069 acres,more or less,as shown on the plat dated 1/23/2026,marked Exhibit"A"and attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island be, and hereby is, authorized to acquire a public utility easement from The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society on,over and below the tract of land described herein and as depicted on Exhibit A hereto for one dollar($1.00) and mutual benefits received. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and designee are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose of this Resolution.
