WHEREAS,the City of Grand Island has five(5) 115kV transmission tie lines to the
Nebraska Power District (NPPD) that connect the City to the outside electric grid; and
WHEREAS,NPPD has approached Grand Island about adding a sixth(6) 115kV tie
line that will run from NPPD's Alda Substation to Grand Island's Substation J.
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signifies the intent of both
parties to move forward with planning the construction of aforementioned tie line in good faith.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA, that it is the City of Grand Island's intent to
work with NPPD in good faith to construct a 115kV tie line from NPPD's Alda Substation to Grand
Island's Substation J.
