WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited sealed bids for furnishing Asphalt Hot-
Mix for 2026, according to plans and specifications on file with the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2026 bids were received, opened and reviewed; and,
WHEREAS, J.I.L. Asphalt Paving Co. and Gary Smith Construction Co. submitted
responsible bids within the bid specifications for Asphalt Hot-Mix 2026.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the above bids for asphalt hot-mix purchased in
the 2026 calendar year, are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island and that the City Clerk shall store, retain,
and make available for access all related and herein referenced documents in the same manner as
contracts and agreements are retained.
