WHEREAS, the Nebraska State Fair Board and City of Grand Island wish to participate
cooperatively in an effort to market the City of Grand Island, by and through the opportunities
available during the 2026 Nebraska State Fair; and,
WHEREAS,the Nebraska State Fair Board and the City of Grand Island wish to participate
cooperatively in efforts to provide law enforcement services during the Nebraska State Fair
Marathon; and,
WHEREAS, the Parties agree that this cooperation is most effectively performed through
providing cooperative in-kind services and resources; and,
WHEREAS, the Parties have reduced their cooperation to an Interlocal Cooperation
Agreement provided to Council on this date and incorporated by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the
proposed Interlocal Agreement for the Nebraska State Fair Board and to take all other actions
necessary to effect the purpose of this resolution.
