WHEREAS,the Grand Island Utilities Department,Underground Division routinely
installs new underground electrical infrastructure for new residential, commercial and industrial
developments; and
WHEREAS,crews are installing infrastructure in multiple locations at one time,and
more than one tracked loader is needed; and
WHEREAS, this lease will replace an old unit that has 3000+ hours and has been
requiring more frequent repairs; and
WHEREAS, since 2020, the Utility has entered annual lease agreements on other
similar equipment that has proven to be an appropriate use of funds; and
WHEREAS, a less expensive option would be an annual lease of the equipment for
$8,600.00 based upon Sourcewell, a government pricing organization.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the annual lease for the Bobcat Compact
Track Loader for the Utilities Department,Underground Division in the total amount of$8,600.00
through the Sourcewell Cooperative Buying Group contract holder Hometown Leasing of Grand
Island,Nebraska is approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the lease on behalf of the
City of Grand Island.
