WHEREAS, Nebraska legislature passed statutes related to Ground Emergency
Medical Transport(GEMT); and
WHEREAS, The Grand Island Fire Department (GIFD) must submit accounting
documentation and reports by December 19,2025 to be eligible for GEMT funds related to Medicaid
patients; and
WHEREAS, GIFD currently has a contract with EMS Management& Consultants
(EMS MC) for ambulance billing services; and
WHEREAS, EMS MC provides services related to the completion of necessary
GEMT filing requirements; and
WHEREAS, The City agrees to pay a ten percent contingency fee per annual cost
report submission,inclusive of enhanced incremental revenues received from the GEMT program.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the agreement with EMS Management &
Consultants is hereby accepted and approved; and that the City Clerk shall store,retain, and make
available for access all related and herein referenced documents as contracts and agreements are
retained.
