WHEREAS, on October 8, 2024, by Resolution 2024-256, the City of Grand
Island approved a contract with VenuWorks to manage the day-to-day operations of the
Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, section 3.5 authorizes the City to transfer funds to Heartland Event
Center/VenuWorks operating cash account for operations of Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks on November 19, 2024, requested and approved for
$100,000 for operating funds for Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks on January 14, 2025, requested and approved for
$200,000 for operating funds for the Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks July 22, 2025, requested and approved for $200,000 for
operating funds for Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks has requested $200,000 for operating funds for
Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, VenuWorks has requested to receive $30,000 in ten (10) monthly
installments not to exceed $500,000 for FY2026 starting in December 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the $200,000 funding request and ten (10)
monthly installments of $30,000 each not to exceed $500,000 by VenuWorks is hereby
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreements on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
