WHEREAS, on April 10, 2018, via Resolution No. 2018-94 the Grand Island City
Council approved entering into an agreement with SCS Engineers of Omaha, Nebraska in the
amount of$60,130.00 for engineering consulting services related to a Transfer Station Operations
Facility Improvement Study for the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS,on July 23,2019,via Resolution No 2019-220, City Council approved
Amendment No. 1 to the original agreement with SCS Engineers in the amount of$20,890.00 to
allow for further research into the Cost of Service & Fee Analysis, as well as a Fee Comparison
within the overall regional solid waste marketplace, and a presentation of such results; and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2021, via Resolution No. 2021-347, City Council
approved Amendment No. 2 to the original agreement with SCS Engineers in the amount of
$412,336.25 to include survey, geotechnical work, design, construction bid phase, and permitting;
and
WHEREAS,the original agreement is now being amended to include construction project
management, submittal/shop drawing review, onsite meetings, and project closeout; and
WHEREAS, such amendment is in the amount of $282,191.50, for a revised
agreement amount of$775,547.75; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 3 to the original agreement with SCS Engineers of
Omaha,Nebraska is required to proceed with this project.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA, that Amendment No. 3 with SCS Engineers of
Omaha, Nebraska for additional work related to the Transfer Station Operations and Facility
Improvements is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such amendment on behalf of the City of Grand Island and that the City Clerk shall store,
retain,and make available for access all related and herein referenced documents in the same manner
as contracts and agreements are retained.
