WHEREAS, on February 11, 2025, via Resolution No.2025-44, the City of Grand
Island awarded The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska the bid in the
amount of$811,466.85 for Stuhr Road at Highway 30 Northbound Turn Lanes;Project No.2023-P-
12; and
WHEREAS, JBS Foods Group will cover the cost of the project associated with
additional improvements to extend a center left turn lane to their south parking lot driveway on the
east side of Stuhr Road. Such contribution to the total project equates to$217,939.00,resulting in a
final project cost of$593,527.85 to the City; and
WHEREAS,to address several unforeseen maintenance items Change Order No. 1 is
being requested; and
WHEREAS,such modifications have been incorporated into Change Order No. 1 for
a contract increase of$80,522.99, resulting in a revised contract amount of$891,989.84; and
WHEREAS, accounting for the JBS Foods Group contribution the City share will
increase to $674,050.84.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor be,and hereby is,authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 1, in the amount of$80,522.99, between the City of Grand
Island and The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska to provide the
modifications.
