WHEREAS,the City is responsible for the operation,management and maintenance
of multiple public buildings in a manner that preserves the public's investment in the facilities;and
WHEREAS,the City is authorized under Neb. Rev. Stat. 66-1060—66-1066 et seq.
to enter into energy savings performance contracts to encourage energy efficiency in the public
interest and to provide for the installation and implementation of energy conservation measures in
City facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Sourcewell purchasing cooperative and
authorized to procure the services of Honeywell International, Inc, by and through its Honeywell
Building Automation business unit under Sourcewell Master Agreement #071624 to perform an
Investment Grade Audit of certain City facilities; and
WHEREAS, City has identified necessary capital improvements for certain City
facilities,including,but not limited to City Hall,Heartland Events Center and Grand Island Public
Library, which improvements would demonstrate energy savings for the City; and
WHEREAS,it is in the best interests of the City and the public for the City to pursue
energy savings conservation measures and capital improvements that can be funded in whole or in
part through the use of guaranteed energy savings performance contracts under Nebraska state laws.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract
with Honeywell International,Inc,by and through its Honeywell Building Automation business unit,
for an Investment Grade Audit at a cost not to exceed $237,977 and a term not to exceed one year
from the date of execution.
