WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, operates an emergency 911 call
center (the Emergency Management/Communications Center) through an ongoing interlocal
agreement with Hall County as governed by the Interlocal Cooperation Act and as authorized by
the Nebraska Public Safety Communication Systems Act; and
WHEREAS, the City approved a contract with Motorola Solutions in October
2024 for the installation and maintenance of a P25 Radio System and Dispatch consoles for a
total of$4,181,517; and
WHEREAS, site visits revealed the need to eliminate the installation of 2 roof
antenna on the top of the Emergency Management Building at 1210 N. North Road; and
WHEREAS, Motorola Solutions has proposed using the savings from that
unrealized installation to purchase two Deskset devices in order to provide radio access in the
Emergency Operations Center; and
WHEREAS, Motorola Solutions has proposed Change Order #1 to include these
two changes for a total of$0.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that Motorola Solutions Change Order #1
for$0 is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed
to execute such grant applications on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
