WHEREAS,historically,the City of Grand Island has experienced natural disasters
which required outside assistance to aid in restoration of utilities; and
WHEREAS,having access to centralized facilities to coordinate outside assistance is
crucial; and
WHEREAS, there are facilities available for such a use at Fonner Park and the
Nebraska State Fair site; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has deemed it prudent to communicate the
responsibilities of the various parties in a formal written agreement and have developed a
Memorandum of Understanding.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Memorandum of Understanding between
the City of Grand Island and Hall County Livestock Association and Nebraska State Fair Board,is
hereby approved.
