WHEREAS, on March 12, 2024, via Resolution No.2024-73, the City of Grand
Island awarded Elsbury Construction, LLC of Grand Island, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$2,626,321.60 for South Locust Street Paving Improvements-Highway 34 to Wood River Diversion
Bridge; Project No. 2023-P-9; and
WHEREAS,on June 25,2024,via Resolution No.2024-148,City Council approved
Change Order No. 1 to this project to allow for removal and replacement of unsuitable subgrade
material, as well as temporary access roads, in the amount of$149,381.90; and.
WHEREAS In order to repair curb inlets within the project,which weren't known to
be an issue at the time of bidding, Change Order No. 2 is necessary; and
WHEREAS.also included in Change Order No. 2 is the deduction for striping done
by the City Street Division and the rectifying of quantities; and
WHEREAS,such modifications have been incorporated into Change Order No. 2 in
the amount of$16,063.84,resulting in a revised contract amount of$2,791,767.34.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute ChangeOrder No.2 on behalf of the City of Grand Island and that the City Clerk
shall store,retain, and make available for access all related and herein referenced documents in the
same manner as contracts acid agreements are retained.
