11/19/2024 Resolutions 2024-307 RESOLUTION 2024-307 WHEREAS, the Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management Department operates Zetron Radio Consoles to dispatch and communicate with local emergency response agencies as well as activate outdoor warning sirens and perform other emergency tasks; and WHEREAS, the Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management Department operates a vast amount Motorola radios and other radio equipment, as well as Motorola owned Callworks 911 phone system; and WHEREAS, maintaining the same equipment for the Main and alternate 911 Centers and EOC's will reduce cost, provide better redundancy, and ensure adequate proficiency of personnel; and WHEREAS, Platte Valley Communications, an approved company by both Motorola and Zetron, has provided a proposal to provide regular monthly maintenance and emergency maintenance for Grand Island / Hall County Emergency Management necessary emergency response software and hardware equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA, that the Platte Valley maintenance contract is hereby approved. BE IT RESOLVED that Platte Valley Communications, to ensure top performance, reliability, and duration of all software and hardware equipment, is the authorized sole source service provider for the Grand Island / Hall County Emergency Management Department and shall be for the next ten(10)years.
