Notice appeared in the Grand Island Independent on January 27, 2022. A quorum present, President Tanya Hansen called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. The following members were present: Ed Meedel, Jaime Parr, Sara White, Ben Boeselager, Kelli Arens and Maria Lopez. Celine Swan, Shaun Klee and Vaughn Minton were also present. Open Meetings Law Notice: Provided by President Tanya Hansen. Public Participation: None Approval of Minutes: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Maria Lopez, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Minutes of the December 20, 2021 library board meeting. REPORTS: Approval of Financial Report: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Maria Lopez, carried unanimously to accept for filing the October 2021, November 2021 and December 2021 Financial Reports. Approval of Bills Submitted: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Maria Lopez, carried unanimously to accept for filing the December 28, 2021 and January 11, 2022 Bills Submitted. . Approval of Director’s Report: Motion by Kelli Arens, seconded by Ed Meedel, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Director’s Report. Board Communications and Committee Reports: Nothing to report at this time. Planning for Strategic Plan: Library staff will let Tanya know of any changes and the final draft will presented at the next board meeting. Approval of Strategic Planning Minutes from December 4, 2021: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Kelli Arens, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Minutes of the December 4, 2021 Strategic Planning Meeting. Approval of Library Annual Report 2020-2021: A few changes were made as well as making sure the date on the report reads 2020-2021. Motion by Jaime Parr, seconded by Ed Meedel, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Library Annual Report 2020-2021 with changes that were discussed. Alldata is available only inside library • Closed 1/17/2022 in Observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Upcoming-Library work • H3C PIWI Parents Interacting with Infants Program/Literacy Summit Meetings with ELC • Promoting SORA with Northwest. Shaun is doing a Beanstack Promotion. • Working with City IT updating digital displays and Comprise update research to switch to Envisionware, Waiting for Bibliotecha selfcheckouts, gates-back ordered • Digital Lab Materials ordered and staff are working on setting up • Laura working on Every Child Ready to Read Area with new Signage and rearrangement and investigating software for children’s computers • Library Annual Report was presented to the City Council at Feb 8 meeting by C Swan and Tanya Hansen, president was in attendance and acknowledged by Mayor Steele • Nebraska Library Commission Public Survey due 2/18/2022 completed • Shaun/Celine working on updating library policies with Tanya and Ben waiting to work on after Strategic Plan • ByGone BookClub 2/12 had 41 attend • Bear Week, Spring Break, Dr. Seuss, Planning for Bear Fair for April 4, Summer Reading Programs and marketing materials • Laura is attending PLA in Portland OR March 23-25.
