Notice appeared in the Grand Island Independent on June 17, 2021. A quorum present, President Tanya Hansen called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. The following members were present: Ed Meedel, Ben Boeselager and Maria Lopez. Celine Swan was also present. Open Meetings Law Notice: Provided by President Tanya Hansen. Public Participation: None Approval of Minutes: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Ben Boeselager, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Minutes of the May 17, 2021 library board meeting. REPORTS: Approval of Financial Report: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Ben Boeselager, carried unanimously to accept for filing the April 2021 Financial Reports. Approval of Bills Submitted: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Ben Boeselager, carried unanimously to accept for filing the May 25, 2021 and June 8, 2021 Bills Submitted. . Approval of Director’s Report: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Ben Boeselager, carried unanimously to accept for filing the Director’s Report. All staff must attend a day long training with TLC. The library will need to be closed for the whole day for this training. This will take place sometime in August. Motion by Ben Boeselager, seconded by Maria Lopez, carried unanimously to accept for filing to empower the library director to make the decision to be closed for TLC training. Board Communications and Committee Report: Tanya stated two board members are needed to be on the Interlocal Agreement Committee. Ed Meedel and Ben Boeselager agreed to be on this committee with Tanya. Motion by Maria Lopez, seconded by Ed Meedel, carried unanimously to accept for filing Ed Meedel and Ben Boeselager to be on the Interlocal Agreement Committee with Tanya Hansen. Approval of Bahr Money: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Ben Boeselager, carried unanimously to accept for filing the approval of the use of Bahr money to cover the transition from Pioneer to TLC not to exceed $26,729.00 for the first year only. Accept both the gift assignments and rights for Crane Art: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Maria Lopez, carried unanimously to accept for filing both the gift assignments and the rights for Crane Art. Next Meeting: This meeting will hold on Monday July 19, 2021 at 4:30. It goes to City Council on July 27 • RFP for ILS-Integrated Library System Software-August 9 we will be CLOSED. TLC goes live August 10 before we open. • Update on Pioneer Consortium • Virtual Report • Media Report • Library Utility Insert • Hall County Head of Household Quarterly Report • Crane Art Update and Dedication • Library Foundation Work: 295 funds, Peter Kiewit update,on signage approved and Love’s will install by the end of the month, 6 monitors-working on electronics with city IT and Jeremy, Early Literacy Outdoor Discovery Center learning centers ordered, coming in 3-5 weeks and will be installed. Upcoming-Library work • Peter Kiewit-future projects-electronic needs • IT planning-Capital Project to replace computers, selfcheckouts, and printers, • Presentation with VA Admirals, Meeting with Children’s Museum Board, H3C groups • Partner with Hall County Historical Society on Heritage Hour, and Bygone Hall County Book Club partnership promotion in September, Quarterly Open House with other groups such Stuhr, PPGS, DAR Chapter, Historical Society in the works.
