MINUTES OF REGULAR LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
April 15, 2021
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular Meeting of the Library Board of the Grand Island Public
Library was conducted on Monday, April 15, 2021. Notice appeared in the Grand Island Independent on March
11, 2021. A quorum present, President Tanya Hansen called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. The following
members were present: Ed Meedel, Kelli Arens, Jaime Parr, Ben Boeselager, Maria Lopez and Sara White.
Open Meetings Law Notice: Provided by President Tanya Hansen.
Public Participation: None
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Sara White, carried unanimously to accept for filing
the Minutes of the March 15, 2021 library board meeting.
REPORTS:
Approval of Financial Report: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Sara White, carried unanimously to accept for
filing the February 2021 Financial Reports.
Approval of Bills Submitted: Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Sara White, carried unanimously to accept for
filing the March 23, 2021 and April 13, 2021 Bills Submitted.

Approval of Director’s Report: Motion by Kelli Arens, seconded by Ed Meedel, carried unanimously to accept
for filing the Director’s Report.
Board Communications and Committee Report: Tanya and Ben will review the revised policies from Celine and
Shaun so a vote can be made at the May board meeting.
Planning for Strategic Plan:
RFP for Integrated Library System Replacement: Shaun informed the board that the committee chose Library
Solutions. Motion by Ed Meedel, seconded by Kelli Arens, carried unanimously to accept for filing the decision
to use Library Solutions

Next Meeting: This meeting will hold on Monday May 17, 2021 at 4:30.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned at 4:54 p.m.

Approval of Racial Justice 101 Training
The Board will need to vote if they would like to do Racial Justice 101 training from the YWCA for the
Library Board and a few staff Jun 17 11am-1pm $75.00. This training Danielle Helzer can customize to
go with our Strategic Planning, and for our library setting. This can be in-person or Zoom. The Board can
receive CE credits. She can do this on Thursdays from 3-5 or 4-6.
