REV. STATUTES 77-3443, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska (the “City”), by its Ordinance passed and adopted June 27, 1994, created the Community Redevelopment Authority of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, pursuant to Sections 18-2101 through 18-2153 of the Nebraska Community Development Law; Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, as amended (the “Act”); WHEREAS, on July 12, 2007, the members of the Community Redevelopment Authority of the City of Grand Island considered its budget for fiscal year 2007-2008 and determined that a request for personal and real property tax in the amount of $492,540 is necessary to accomplish the statutory purposes of the Authority in the upcoming fiscal year and that the accomplishment of these purposes is in the best interests of the City of Grand Island. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, by copy of this Resolution delivered to the City of Grand Island on this date, the Authority hereby requests and recommends that the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, as a part of the City maximum levy of $.45 per $100 of taxable valuation of property, as authorized by the Revised Statutes of Nebraska, Section 77-3442, authorize a 2007-2008 levy allocation which will provide $492,540 in personal and real property tax funds to the Community Redevelopment Authority of the City of Grand Island for the accomplishment of the purposes for which it was created. Passed and approved by the Authority this 12th day of July, 2007. The purpose of the hearing: 1.Public hearing concerning the declaration of a site known as Redevelopment Area #7 in the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, as blighted and substandard in accordance with Section 18-2116 Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, Nebraska Community Development Act, as amended. The area is described as follows: An area in or adjacent the City of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, Beginning at the intersection of the east line of Blaine Street and the north line of Schimmer Drive West, thence south along said east line to its intersection with the north line of the southwest quarter of Section 4, Township 11 North, Range 9 West, of the 6th Principle Meridian, thence east along said north line to its intersection with the east line of the southwest quarter of Section 4, Township 11 North, Range 9 West, of the 6th Principle Meridian, thence south along said east line to its intersection with the south line of Wildwood Drive West, thence west along said south line to its intersection with the west line of the St. Joseph Branch Railroad right-of-way, thence north to the north line of Schimmer Drive West, and continuing north along the west line of the St. Joseph Branch Railroad right-of- way approximately 660' (or one-eighth of a mile), thence east approximately 660' and south approximately 660' to the north line of Schimmer Drive West, thence east along said north line to its intersection with the east line of Blaine Street, also the point of beginning. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing at which time comments will be heard relative to the Blight/Substandard Designation Study. The hearing will be open to the public and citizens and interested persons will be heard. Upon approval of the designation of the area as blight and substandard, the Community Redevelopment Authority of the City of Grand Island will accept proposals on potential projects within the designated Blight/Substandard Area #7.
