The City of Grand Island abides by the Open Meetings Act in conducting business. A copy of the Open Meetings Act is displayed in the back of this room as required by state law. The City Council may vote to go into Closed Session on any agenda item as allowed by state law. Invocation Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call A - SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located at the Information Booth. If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided. If the item is scheduled for a meeting or study session, notification of the date will be given. In order to do this it was estimated that the base 2018 budget plus 2% increase would be allowed. The administration has been meeting with the Department Directors on their proposed budgets. Discussion Several budget sessions have been scheduled for the City Council to review and have input on the FY 2019 Budget. Tonight’s budget session will be to review the overall general fund budget which has been proposed by the Department Directors, while keeping in mind the balanced budget resolution. We will also discuss the estimated revenues for FY 2019 and have further discussion on the balanced budget spreadsheet and pie chart. The non-departmental fund and transfers out will be discussed in more detail. Finally a discussion will be held in regards to utilizing Food and Beverage Tax dollar fund for the maintenance on the new ballfields being funded by said fund. Conclusion This item is presented to the City Council in a Study Session to allow for open discussion. No action will be taken at this meeting; however some general direction to staff would be appropriate.
