If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided. If the item is scheduled for a meeting or study session, notification of the date will be given. B - RESERVE TIME TO SPEAK ON AGENDA ITEMS This is an opportunity for individuals wishing to provide input on any of tonight's agenda items to reserve time to speak. City of Grand Island City Council Item -1 Update and Presentation by Subcommittees on Comprehensive Plan Goals As part of the update of the Grand Island Comprehensive Plan eight subcommittees were formed to study and recommend goals, policies and objectives regarding a variety of issues. The eight subcommittees covered the following areas: Streets and Transportation; South Locust from I-80 to US Highway 34; Hazard Mitigation; City Image and Community Beautification; Land Use/Zoning; Economic Development; Public Safety, Facilities and Utilities; and Parks and Recreation. Over 120 people volunteered to participate in the meetings. The first meeting was held 2 months ago on October 10, 2002. The committees have all met between 4 and 6 times during the last 2 months. Recommendations from one committee may conflict with those of other committees. These recommendations will be forwarded to JEO Consulting Group and the Steering Committee for the Grand Island Comprehensive Plan. The Steering Committee and JEO will prioritize the goals as the comprehensive plan develops. These goals and the plan will be presented the Hall County Regional Planning Commission and the Grand Island City Council for adoption early in 2004.
