05/10/2022 Resolutions 2022-130RESOLUTION 2022-130 WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development requires multiple certifications in order to comply with the Community Development Block Grant Program requirements; and WHEREAS, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), public Law 116-136, which was signed on March 27, 2020, through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program Entitlement communities have been notified they will receive a formula allocation from the first round of CDBG-CV funding to be used specifically for the prevention of, preparation for, and response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.; and WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island completed a substantial amendment to the 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan in order to receive Community Development Block Grant funds through CARES Act; and WHEREAS, the City must enter into a Sub-Recipient Agreement with each organization identified in the 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan; and WHEREAS, The Heartland United Way's Protect GI program has requested an amendment to the Sub-Recipient agreement to extend the program end date to October 13, 2022. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA that the City of Grand Island, Nebraska is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Heartland United Way and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign such certifications on behalf of the City of Grand Island amending the program end date to October 13, 2022.
