An ordinance to vacate a portion of an existing right-of-way and to provide for
filing this ordinance in the office of the Register of Deeds of Hall County; to repeal any
ordinance or parts of ordinance in conflict herewith; and to provide for publication and the
effective date of this ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA:
SECTION 1. That a portion of an existing right-of-way of Wheeler Avenue,
more particularly described as follows:
A TRACT OF LAND BEING PART OF NORTH WHEELER AVENUE RIGHT-OF-
WAY LYING SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF WEST
SOUTH FRONT STREET AND BETWEEN LOT FOUR (4), BLOCK FIFTY-SIX (56)
AND LOT ONE (1), BLOCK FIFTY-SEVEN (57), ORIGINAL TOWN 1N THE CITY
OF GRAND ISLAND, HALL COUNTY, NEBRASKA, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
COMMENCING AT THE NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF LOT 4, BLOCK 56,
ORIGINAL TOWN OF GRAND ISLAND, SAID PO1NT BE1NG THE PO1NT OF
BEGINNING; THENCE ON AN ASSUMED BEARING OF S28°18'S4"E, ALONG

SECTION 2. The property vacated by Section 1 shall be retained as public utility
easement by City of Grand Island, Nebraska.
SECTION 3. The title to the property vacated by Section 1 of this Ordinance
shall revert to the adj acent property owners equally.
SECTION 4. This ordinance is directed to be filed in the office of the Register of
Deeds of Hall County, Nebraska.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its
passage and publication, without the plat, within fifteen (15) days in one issue of the Grand
Island Independent as provided by law.
