WHEREAS, on March 24, 2020, via Resolution No.2020-76, the City of Grand Island
awarded Gary Smith Construction Co., Inc. of Grand Island, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$898,534.85 for Asphalt Resurfacing Project No. 2020-AC-1; and
WHEREAS, on September 22, 2020, via Resolution No. 2020-231, Grand Island City
Council approved Change Order No. 1, at no cost, to the project which allowed for a time extension
to compete the project from September 4, 2020 to November 15, 2020; and
WHEREAS, On November 24, 2020, via Resolution No. 2020-304, Grand Island City
Council approved Change Order No. 2 to the project which allowed for a time extension from
November 15, 2020 to July l, 2021; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional time is necessary to complete such
project; and
WHEREAS, such modifications have been incorporated into Change Order No. 3;
and
WHEREAS, there will be no cost associated with such time extension, leaving the
contract agreement amount of $898,534.85; and
WHEREAS, the project completion date will be extended from July 1, 2021 to
August 15, 2021.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 3, at no additional cost, between the City of Grand Island and
Gary Smith Construction Co., Inc. of Grand Island, Nebraska to provide the modifications.
