WHEREAS, at the August 13, 2019 meeting, Council approved a contract to
Chief Construction Company for construction of the Burdick Station Maintenance Building; and
WHEREAS, the bid package included unit pricing for all items as well as some
major maintenance items; and
WHEREAS, during the construction, it was determined that the electrical service
should be increased to 400 amps and service re-routed to the existing building and that leaks in
the demineralized water storage tank should be patched; and
WHEREAS, this work was beyond the original scope of work; and
WHEREAS, the total for this Change Order is an addition of $16,605.00 and
increases the original contract in the amount of $1,740,637.00 to a total of $1,757,242.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that Change Order #1 to the Burdick
Station Maintenance Building is approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the
Change Order on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
