WHEREAS, on August 28, 2018, via Resolution 2018-252, the City of Grand Island
awarded The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$1,794,404.38 for Sycamore Street Underpass Rehabilitation; Project No. 2017-U-1; and
WHEREAS, the completion of such project has been delayed due to weather
conflicts; and
WHEREAS, The Diamond Engineering Company has requested an extension of the
substantial completion date from August 1, 2019 to November 12, 2019, with final completion
extension from September 30, 2019 to January 7, 2020 in order to complete the project; and
extension; and
WHEREAS, there will not be any contract amount modification with such time
WEREAS, the Public Works Department supports such contract extension.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 1 between the City of Grand Island and The Diamond
Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska to provide the requested time extension for
Sycamore Street Underpass Rehabilitation; Project No. 2019-U-1.
