WHEREAS, on November 14, 2017, via Resolution No.2017-319, the City of Grand
Island awarded Van Kirk Bros. Contracting of Sutton, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$3,093,150.00 for Ce113 Liner and Leachate System at the Grand Island Regional Landfill; and
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2018, via Resolution No. 2018-270, City Council
approved Change Order No. 1 for a decrease in the original contract amount of $20,095.60, resulting
in a revised contract amount of $3,073,054.40; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that modifications need to be made to allow for
liquidated damages and an anticipated overage in turf matting; and
WHEREAS, such modifications have been incorporated into Change Order No. 2;
and
WHEREAS, the result of such modifications will decrease the contract amount by
$49,433.23 for a revised contract price of $3,023,621.17.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 2 in the amount of ($49,433.23) between the City of Grand
Island and Van Kirk Bros. Contracting of Sutton, Nebraska to provide the modifications.
