RESOLUTION 2018-247
WHEREAS, on February 27, 2018, Council approved a contract with General Electric
International, Inc. of Omaha, Nebraska in the amount of $494,261.00 for Gas Turbine #3 Modified
Hot Gas Path Inspection at Burdick Generating Station; and
WHEREAS, at the June 26, 2018 Council meeting, Council approved Change Orders
#1 and #2 for the Hot Gas Path Inspection in the amount of $50,878.83; and
WHEREAS, during the Hot Gas Path Inspection, the fuel nozzles and combustion
liners were sent to the General Electric repair facilities for inspections; and
WHEREAS, during the inspection process, several fuel nozzles did not meet the flow
specifications and the combustion liners need repairs to maintain their function during operation; and
WHEREAS, the repairs while in the facility wi11 cost $132,090.13 and new gaskets
needed to reassemble the fuel nozzles will cost $1,870.83; and
WHEREAS, Grand Island Utilities supplemented the labor during disassembly and a
credit was given in the amount of $5,037.92; and
WHEREAS, the total of these repairs, parts, and the credit received amount to a net
increase in the contract of $128,923.04, for a final contract cost of $674,062.87.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that Change Order #3 for the Modified Hot Gas
Path Inspection at Burdick Generating Station in the amount of $128,923.04, is hereby approved and
the Mayor is authorized to sign the Change Order on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
