06/26/2018 Resolutions 2018-183RESOLUTION 2018-183 WHEREAS, at the December 12, 2017 Council meeting, Council awarded the contract for Water Main Project 2018-W-1 — 17th Street from Broadwell Avenue to Elm Street to Myers Construction, Inc., of Broken Bow, Nebraska, in the amount of $368,123.84; and WHEREAS, during construction, an unknown fiber-optic vault that serves the north part of Grand Island was discovered at the southwest corner of 17th and Elm Streets; and WHEREAS, the obstruction required changing the water main alignment, moving it out into the parking lane of 17th Street; and WHEREAS, as a result of the needed relocation, the amount of roadway and curb removal replacements increased; and WHEREAS; Change Order # 1 in the amount of $26,474.49 was prepared, resulting in a final contract amount of $394,598.33. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that Change Order # 1 in the amount of $26,474.49 is approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the Change Order on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
