WHEREAS, on Apri125, 2017, via Resolution 2017-127, the City of Grand Island
awarded The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$140,361.50 for North Broadwell Avenue Drainage Project No. 2017-D-3; and
WHEREAS, on August 22, 2017, via Resolution No. 2017-235, City Council
approved Changer Order No. 1 to allow for a contract extension to December 15, 2017, with no
contract amount modification; and
WHEREAS, in order to address a water main conflict additional labor and material is
necessary;and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 covers all work required to insulate the water main
near the Broadwell Avenue drainage pipe; and
WHEREAS, the extra work adds a total cost of $8,328.00 to the project, resulting in a
revised contract amount of $148,689.50; and
WEREAS, such change order is necessary to proceed with the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 2 between the City of Grand Island and The Diamond
Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska in the amount of $8,328.00 for North Broadwell
Avenue Drainage Project No. 2017-D-3.
