WHEREAS,on June 10,2014,by Resolution 2014-163,the City Council of the City
of Grand Island approved the bid of Van Kirk Brothers Contracting of Sutton, Nebraska for
construction of Sanitary Sewer District No. 528 and No. 530T; and
WHEREAS,the completion of such project has been delayed due to several factors;
and
WHEREAS, such delays have resulted in additional work days; and
WHEREAS,Van Kirk Brothers Contracting has requested an extension from June 15,
2015 to July 27, 2015 for Sanitary Sewer District No. 528 and from March 15, 2015 to April 24,
2015 for Sanitary Sewer District No. 530T in order to complete the projects; and
WEREAS, the Public Works Department supports such contract extensions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 1 between the City of Grand Island and Van Kirk Brothers
Contracting of Sutton,Nebraska to provide the modifications of Sanitary Sewer District No.528 and
No. 530T.
