WHEREAS,the City is authorized by state law to contract with the Grand Island Area
Council For International Visitors, a non-profit agency, to provide cultural activities and home
hospitality opportunities for foreign leaders, specialists and international scholars in promoting the
various aspects of the Grand Island community; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a contract with the Grand Island Area
Council for International Visitors to provide such services; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City provide funding to the Grand Island
Area Council for International Visitors in the amount of$200 during fiscal year 2012-2013 for
performing agreed upon services as outlined in the agreement; and
WHEREAS,such funding was approved by the Mayor and City Council pursuant to
adopted budget statements and annual appropriation ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
sign on behalf of the City of Grand Island, an agreement by and between the City and the Grand
Island Area Council for International Visitors to provide funding in the amount of$200 in support of
cultural activities and home hospitality opportunities for foreign leaders,specialists and international
scholars in promoting the various aspects of the Grand Island community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such contract with the Grand Island Area Council for International Visitors on behalf of the
City of Grand Island.
