04/10/2012 Resolutions 2012-86RESOLUTION 2012-86 WHEREAS, the Grand Island Police Department has received notification that they are eligible to apply for $29,838.00 in grant funds under the 2012 Byrne Justice Assistance (JAG) Program and the Hall County Sheriffs Department has been named as a disparate agency; and WHEREAS the Grand Island Police Department as the applicant will act as the fiscal agent; and WHEREAS, the Grand Island Police Department will be allocated $22,379.00 ofthe grant funds; and WHEREAS the Hall County Sheriff's Department will be allocated $7,459.00 of the grant funds; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 10, 2012, as required to discuss the proposed use of such funds; and WHEREAS, a memorandum of understanding between the City of Grand Island and Hall County is required as part of the grant application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that approval is hereby granted to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hall County for the application of 2012 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding.
