01/24/2012 Resolutions 2012-5RESOLUTION 2012-5 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, operates an emergency 911 call center through interlocal agreement with Hall County; and WHEREAS, the Grand Island Emergency Center, managed by the Grand Island Emergency Management Department is the Public Safety Answering Point for all of Hall County; and WHEREAS, the current 911 telephone system is no longer supported for parts or software by the vendor after December 31, 2011; and WHEREAS, Council has budgeted $190,000 for the installation of a replacement 911 telephone system to include a 5 year support agreement, and WHEREAS, a recently completed bid process produced a successful bid below budget, from Platte Valley Communications of Grand Island, NE, for a total of $168,835.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that: The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to award this bid to Platte Valley Communications on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
