02/26/2008 Resolutions 2008-72RESOLUTION 2008-72 WHEREAS, in March, 1992, the City of Grand Island purchased a home at 415 E. Stn Street with State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development Community Development Block Grant funds for the purpose of selling the home to aloes-income first time homebuyer through an existing Homestead Program; and WHEREAS, the property was sold or rented multiple times but was returned to the City in 1995 due to owner/tenant default and was subsequently rented to slow-income tenant in 1998 with no option to purchase, WHEREAS, the tenant vacated the property in February 2007 and the City wishes to dispose of the property, WHEREAS, in order to dispose of the building and property at 415 E. 9th Street, it is necessary that the council declare the real estate and building as surplus so that the property can be properly disposed of. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the building and property at 415 E. 9`h Street, Grand Island, Nebraska, is hereby declared as surplus property and is directed to be sold by sealed proposals which will include price, a plan for meeting the low-income guidelines to rent or sell the property, and a time line for disposal.
