01/22/2008 Resolutions 2008-22RESOLUTION 2008-22 WHEREAS, The City of Grand Island has operated a composting station at the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department since 1992; and WHEREAS, in 1993, a grant funded by the Department of Environmental Quality purchased a wheel loader, front mounted compost turner; and WHEREAS, because of increased maintenance and repair costs to the compost turner and wheel loader, the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department wishes to submit a grant application to the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality to purchase apull-type compost turner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, is hereby authorized to apply for a grant for the purchase of Compost Turning Equipment from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such grant application and other documentation on behalf of the City of Grand Island for such grant purposes.
